Ind. Blog 2

In this photo you can see that it is a coffee ad, with a color of black and white. The photo is showing a man who is sitting down with a dress up pants, dress up shirt, dress up socks and a dress up shoes. The guy seems to have his hand cock back, as if he is going to beat his woman who is laying down on his lap. Like, as if a child is getting beaten by his father when the child does some bad. The woman who is laying on her man's lap is wearing a long black dress and a black high heels, that are waving in the air and one of her hands are on the ground, as the other is on the guy's shoulder. At the same time she is looking at the camera, with a look of shock, as if she as been "busted". The image might seems to be in black and white but the color makes our eyes focus on them two people who are on the photo, due to all white background. And if you look at the top of the photo, there is a font that is in a big bold letters that says, "If your husband ever finds out...". Meaning don't get cought using different coffee brand or you in trouble, by your husband.
This ad is telling the audience not to get busted or get cought using a different coffee brand, when your husband comes home from work.

  1. Hi Sharmarke,

I'm not sure you're fully thinking about the implications of this ad. What might it mean that, as you point out, a woman is being treated like a child, or that a man has the right to beat "his woman"? What does it mean that a woman's role is to stay at home checking her husband's coffee while he works?

You need to get a little deeper into this rhetoric to provide a satisfactory analysis of this interesting ad!
