The lyrics are asking people to make an end to this violence and hate in the world through creating change. The lyrics also suggest that the truth will bring out the love within. All the content within the lyrics suggest that the world has become full of negativity and that in order to change this people must be willing to do something.

Clearly these lyrics play on the human emotions. The lyrics contain many bionaries, including the ideas of love and hate. Through this the listener is able to understand and relate to the lyrics. There are also many out of the ordinary images, such as when the lyrics reference toxic gases entering the lungs of children. These images that the lyrics create lures in the attention of the listeners and provokes them into wanting to make the change of making the world a better place. The lyrics also uses a lot of repition with the corus, which really allows the idea that peole need to "practice what they preach" and make a positive change. One main use of repition is with the lyric, "Where is the Love?" This allows the question to sink into the minds of the listeners and provoke them into attempting to restore "the love." It references the importance of the word love many different times throughout the entire song. The song uses the idea of love in pop culture in order to get people to change their negative and hurtful ways.
