This commercial starts off by two young adults looking at what seems to be each other in a very passionate way. The song playing in the background is a song that is talking about love. This gives us the sense that these two people are in love with each other and having a moment together. However, a few seconds into the commercial we see that its actually a McRib sandwich from McDonalds that they are looking at. The rest of the commercial consists of of the same song playing in the background and others also eating this sandwich and looking at it very passionately. This advertisement is one that is typical to a lot of ads today. Everyone is looking for love, but in todays world love is something that is very confusing and sometimes hard to deal with. Love doesn't always makes sense when your with another person and your significant other can let you down. However as this advertisement tries to show, the McRib sandwich will never let you down and you can always count on it. Its easier to love this sandwich than it is so love a real person because there is no ups and downs in the relationship with the McRib. It seems silly but a lot of advertisements today play on our emotions and confusion over love. We are all looking for love, but its not always easy to find. However, McDonalds tries to make us believe that love can always be there for us if we choose the McRib sandwich. We see every person in the commercial happy and it makes us want to be happy like them. McDonalds is trying to say its easier for you to be in love with their sandwich then a real person because their sandwich will never dump you, cheat on you, etc. This appeal to our emotions can work well sometimes when maybe we can't figure out love in real life with other people.
