Josh's Blog Post 2

I chose the Axe Chocolate commercial ad to do a blog on because its a twist to something that materialistic in the the physical form of a human being. In this blog you see man as being a metaphor temptation and an obsession. In love and Romance there is temptation is everywhere in the world. On Sweetest Day and Valentines Day Chocolates and Roses are primarily the gifts or presents preferred. Men usually give their woman chocolate but in the form of candy bars, cakes, baskets, and glasses.Chocolate is a sweet that releases endorphins. The video shows how women obsess over the notion of chocolate even if its a chocolate man. Its also something to look into because women natural have an attraction to men. The chocolate man can be a combination of latent desire and external temptation. I think the commercial ad its an abstract of women being with a man for the sake of him being a man. I thought this video was very entertaining and interesting. The link below will direct you to the video.

  1. Hey Josh,

I'm curious about some of the rhetoric you're using in your analysis. You note that "women natural have an attraction to men." What kinds of stereotypes is this language revealing? What groups is it leaving out? Why might it assume that men are the ultimate "temptation and...obsession" for women, and how does this reinforce traditional gender roles?
