Splawinski: Lend Me Your Love - Slackstring

http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/s/slackstring/lend_me_your_love.html

These lyrics are from a song titled “Lend Me Your Love,” by the band Slackstring. The song portrays a proposition suggested by the narrator, the singer of the band. He tells the girl to whom he is singing to lend him parts of her life, body, and objects, and he explains how he will enrich each one (e.g. “Lend me your mind and I’ll fill it full of wonder). However, most importantly, he asks her to lend him her love, and he says that if she does, they will be able to do amazing things (e.g. “Lend me your soul and around the world we’ll go). He finishes the song by leaving the listener and girl on the whim “Lend me your love and maybe…” This leaves the possibilities endless and provokes the listener and girl to wonder what else could be possible through love. The song shows love as very romantic and simplistically blissful.

  1. This is another source that is definitely different from what most of the class is doing. It talks about how great love is and how two people can build off of each other. This relates to our topic because it is about love but I think this source doesn't have many questions that can be asked about it. However, if you can think of good questions to be asked I think that would be interesting.
